Five Fun Autumn Activities for Seniors

Chapters Living bookmark

Happy Autumn! As the leaves start to change and the holidays approach, it inspires many enjoyable activities from baking apple crisp to playing spooky games. Here at Chapters, there are plenty of opportunities for soaking in the season. Here are five of our favorite fall activities.

Nature Strolls

Autumn is the perfect time to get those steps in! The crisp weather and captivating nature make walks and hikes extra fun during the autumn months, especially when accompanied by friends. Our Chapters residents love strolling on-campus taking in the fall sights or participating in season outings to destinations like the pumpkin patch.

Flavors of Fall

When it comes to seasonal flavors, autumn takes the cake, or in this case, pecan pie! Besides the impeccable food spread on Thanksgiving day, autumn has a whole host of seasonal treats to indulge in. From pumpkin muffins to comforting soups, Chapters culinary directors pride themselves on weaving the flavors of the season into the menu for residents to enjoy.

Autumn Art

Autumn is full of inspiration for all the crafters and artists! The chilly weather means it's the perfect time for cozy crafts like knitting sweaters or sewing fall-themed pillows. Making handmade decorations for the upcoming holidays is another classic way to craft for the season. Chapters residents access a variety of crafting resources in the activity room.

Festive Fun and Games

A night in is even better when spent playing games. Piece together a themed puzzle with scenes of fall foliage made complete by a log cabin, black cat, or silly ghosts. For a more spooky night, invite over friends to solve a murder mystery in a game of Clue. Here at Chapters, game nights frequently pop up on the calendar, led both by residents and staff.

Cozy Reads

Nothing says fall like cozying up with a good book. Soak in the beautiful patio weather while reading an autumn novel. Make reading a social event by joining a book club or Bible study that can continue all through the cold winter months too. Not sure what to read? Ask one of our associates for a recommendation!

At Chapters Living, our communities embrace the beauty of autumn and all the festive activities it brings. Schedule a tour to experience the autumn fun happening in our communities today!
